in the taunton times dated 8th july, a letter titled..'do you use these contact centres?' was written by name/address enclosed. it said...."i am questioning the effectiveness of contact centres, i would like to hear from mothers that have had experience, past or present, good or bad of these places" it goes on to say "if i receive enough replies, i would like to present them to the family courts so they can see the results of their actions... the children who are the main reason for these centres and who are the ones that are supposed to reap the benefits, end up confused, anxious and upset by the whole experience." i have sent a letter in to the editor to be printed in the paper, asking others who have been involved with the care system to contact me so that i can then direct them here and also socialservicesabuse.com and have also sent her a letter via the editor, asking her to contact me, and also saying that there will be a rally in aug addressing some issues. if anyone else would like to reply, please email: editor@t-times.co.uk 'a very concerned mother' lets give her all the support we can so she does manage to take it to the courts, the more issues that are raised aboout crap like this, someone will have to sit and listen eventually. i would like to get as many people interested in this as possible so that we can start approaching local mp's etc, anyway i'm off to do my leaflet drop, starting in social services and cafcass!!

:)hi there hunni,Were we live there is a contact centre, which is run by the social services, years ago i attended there before my daughter was adopted, they make you feel incompitant, and as it is for supervised visits every move you make is being watched,a girl that i no who i am trying to help at the moment who is trying to get her children back at the moment is attending the same place and she only gets 3 hour with her children a week, which i find disturbing,as the girl admits that her lifestyle wasnt perfect and didnt put the children first but now she has realised that, how powerfull the ss dept is and is fighting to get her children back,in her files it states the children are not at risk of harm but they are still making her have supervised visits,at only 3 hours there a week She went to change the little girls nappy and because you know the changing mats that you pull down off the wall, she didnt use the strap they made a very big issue over this and wrote this in one of the reports, instead of helping familys these places are so quick to judge and not quick enough to praise. Also there was a time she changed the little boys nappy on her knee which, alot of parents do as they fine this easier and they condemed her for this, and also again filed this up. These contact centres also need to change, the way they assess familys and children and give more support. Also could you email one of your leaflets so i can copy them and disturibute a few around the ss depts and other places were they can be seen, and any way hunni i like your style, read your post about getting thrown out the ss dept (nice one) living for justice ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I agree shell. Contact supervisors gain an NVQ to do the job they are assigned, and with this they think they are superior. They are nice to you in front of you, but then when you get the notes, it's a completly different story.

never be fully open at a contact centre ,we had 2 workers writing down all we said ,we were searched in front of our kids ,i was accussed of msbp 19 months ago ,been through family court got our kids back ,and have just recieved a judgement from a judge who has judged AGAINST our local authority he even accussed the contact centre of not handling the situation ,so i advise anyone who has the misfortune of setting foot in one of these places to document any problems with staff and then present it to your lawyer with a complaint
