in taunton, there is a judge that is very well known in the court arena, he deals with varying cases from family matters to home eviction.
has anyone seen on the news very recently, a story about a wellington man, and his thai wife? from what i can gather, he is either a pead or suspected, his wife has recently given birth, and ssd basically wrote to them about seeking a care order for the baby (they do not know the date of birth or even the sex of the child) when the parents heard of this, they made sure the baby was 'moved'. because of their refusal to disclose the babies whereabouts, both mum and dad have now been imprisoned. normally as you are probably aware of, courts etc have an obligation not to name the parents, as this is not keeping the baby anonomous-therefore 'damaging' the child. this judge has given ssd the right to name the parents on tv interviews etc. well this judge is well known for his cold and brusque way of dealing with families and how he is for the 'professional and hard working ssd, that have a heartbreaking job, a job that they clearly do not enjoy as many are parents and feel the hurt and pain when families must be parted' (part of a speech he so very kindy said when he made the freeing order of my children) he did actually add on his 'deepest sympathy' and 'i hope that you will be parents again, you are not old, but young enough to start again, either with each other or new partners'. what a very kind and considerate man!! solicitors/barristers alike are in the same opinion of him, and i was told, that to be given an opportunity to speak and to be listened to and especially to receive such a speech from him was amazing as he literally made the orders 9 times out of 10 for the child to be taken and doesnt blink an eye. his name: JUDGE COTTERILL,
i am not standing up for a pead as they are sick as you can be, but at least they care enough for that baby not to want it in ssd care. ssd comments were that they ' needed to know the whereabouts of this child so that help could be provided and thier intentions were to talk and not nessecarily take the child into care......yeah, we've all heard that one before!!
stay tuned
